Days like yesterday make love Chicago. During his post-game interview yesterday, Ozzie Guillen's wife texted him that she was watching him on TV and he starts talking to her, telling her he'll pick her up at the airport at 11. Hilarious, Ozzie is great.
Not to be outdone, Lou Pinella called out his closer and informed a group of reporters that he doesn't care about feelings. For most managers, this would have been a meltdown, but this was nothing by Lou's standards. Ryan Dempster alone is going to be worth 5-6 screamdowns this year.
What I'm really hoping is that they can keep it up with the Cardinals already 8.5 games out of first place and our top pitcher out for 3 months. Would it be too much to ask for a reality show with Lou, Ozzie and a group of reporters (including Mariotti)? Somebody should get on this.

I imagine that this post-game interview is what the managment of the White Sox would have begged for after the barage of profane language that Guillen elected to utilize in a radio interview recently.
Guillen is only as valuable as his ability to manage and guide his team to the playoffs and back to a World Series ring. If the lesser known Sox don't make the playoffs this season, one has to believe that the never-ending distraction that is Ozzie Guillen will not be coaching in a stadium near you.
As for Pinella, it's always easier to direct the blame elsewhere as opposed to at one's self. Every so often a coach needs to attempt to transform his or her image to accommodate that of his or her team (SEE Pat Riley in 05-06).
Pinella should look to call some of his own poor coaching out, and seek an alternative means of motivating his already mentally and inspirationally challenged team.
Reality Television is already bad enough, why must America continue what will be categorized as the low-point of American television 100 years from now.
